TPP Family First Initiative


The Pediatric Place Family First Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering families by connecting them with essential resources, focusing on community betterment and eliminating barriers to healthcare access.

Meet Melissa Smith, the new lead for The Pediatric Place’s Family First Initiative. In this role, Melissa will act as the liaison for families and community members, ensuring access to resources and overseeing day-to-day operations.

A Clinton, Missouri native, Melissa has over five years of experience in Population Health, leading Public Health programs to connect individuals with resources and improve quality of life. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Community Health Worker Association of Missouri since 2022, focusing on improving community health at the state level.

Melissa is also a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor for adults and youth, and is passionate about prevention and education.

The Family First Initiative was created to address the growing need for comprehensive support services for families in our community. Through collaboration with local organizations and outreach efforts, the Family First Initiative ensures families have access to the education, support, and services they need to thrive in a challenging world.
