A 62-year-old woman undergoing treatment for brain and lung cancer had her electricity disconnected due to a $1,600 past-due bill. She was referred to the Critical Medical Needs Program, which paid the balance in full and restored her electricity. She was also approved for monthly energy assistance through the Salvation Army to provide continued support during her treatment.
