What You’ll Do
As a Special Education Teacher at The Pediatric Place, you will provide individualized instruction and support for students with diverse educational and behavioral needs. You will help create engaging learning experiences while promoting academic progress, confidence, and independence.
You will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and fellow professionals to ensure students receive comprehensive support both inside and outside the classroom.

Compensation:
- Competitive compensation ranging from $35–$40 per hour
- Compensation based on experience and qualifications

Education: bachelor degree
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education required
- Certification in Special Education required
- Prior experience working with children in a special education setting preferred
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments
Skills:
- Strong classroom management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning styles
- Knowledge of special education best practices
- Compassionate and patient approach to working with children
- Experience with alternative teaching methodologies such as Montessori is a plus
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Utilize learning technology to enhance educational outcomes
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student learning needs
- Manage classroom behavior and dynamics effectively
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, therapists, and other professionals
- Maintain accurate educational records and documentation
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
